Restoration Therapy

Restoration Therapy is a deep tissue massage ‘treatment’. Restoration Therapy treatments work connective tissue and muscles as well as key acupressure points to stimulate blood and energy flow.  It has two main goals.  Restoration Therapy balances the energy in the body and helps injuries heal faster.

Restoration Therapy is also known as ‘Seifukujitsu’ [say fookoo ‘jit soo], in Japanese. In Chinese and Japanese medical traditions proper flow of energy is the key to good health.  This flow of energy or Qi (‘Chi’) in the body is "Restored" by Restoration Therapy.

History and Origins -
Seifukujitsu has been in use for many decades. Henry Seishiro Okazaki helped introduce it to the United States in the early 1900’s. His original, Nikko Sanatorium and Restoration Massage clinic is still in operation in Honolulu.  He treated many patients and taught many people his Danzan Ryu Jujitsu.  This history and its inheritors are very important to us at 5thAvenue Touch.

Our Lineage:

Mark Bronk has been trained by Professor Janovich who is in direct lineage from Professor Okazaki. Mark is one of a very few  practicing Certified Restoration Therapists in Washington State.

Please note that there are several other Certified Restoration Therapists here in Washington. Only a very few CRT's have full LMP (licensed Massage Practitioner) status which is required to practice any bodywork modality in our state.
